55,000 flock to Resorts World Sentosa For Lunar New Year

Local papers reported that 55,000 people visited Resorts World Sentosa's (RWS) casino and other attractions on Thursday, the first day of the Lunar New Year.

But this year, the queues were not a problem as those who headed to the casino did not have to wait long to enter the casino hall.

This is unlike 2010 where the doors to the casino had to be shut for two and a half hours due to the massive turn out.

The resort told local media that it had installed better signages, more queue poles and deployed additional manpower in and around its casino.

RWS also said some 500 of its staff from various departments volunteered to manage crowds during the holidays.

Local media also reported that Marina Bay Sands (MBS) however seemed less busy and MBS did not want to disclose its visitorship numbers for the festive period.
