Singapore resort uses VingCard wireless online locking system

Singapore’s largest integrated resort and family destination, the $6.59 billion Resorts World Sentosa, has installed a wireless RF-online locking system, VISIONLINE from VingCard, a hospitality security provider and part of the ASSA ABLOY Group.

The product will be installed in all six hotels at the family destination, which will also feature a casino, Southeast Asia’s first Universal Studios theme park, an oceanarium and a water park.

Introduced in 2006, VISIONLINE is currently operating in more than 20,000 guestrooms worldwide. The product offers a solution for properties like Resorts World Sentosa, to facilitate two-way wireless online communication from stand-alone electronic door locks to their host security and PMS systems.

Unlike traditional off-line stand-alone locks, VISIONLINE uses RF-online communication capabilities that eliminate the need to travel to each guestroom to perform tasks such as reprogramming individual locks or identifying and changing low batteries, as well the need for a guest to return to the front desk to change a room or extend his or her stay. VISIONLINE components also can communicate with multiple rooms at once, reducing the number of network elements required for installation when compared to other online technologies.
