Video: Russian Tall Ship Pallada in Singapore Docked at Vivo City

Russian Tall Ship Pallada Docked at Vivo City on March 10th 2010.

Pallada is the fifth ship of the Dar Mlodziezy-class built in  Gdarmsk, Poland during the 1980’s. Unlike her white- hulled sisters, Pallada has a black hull with false gunports and resembles the great Russian Barque Kruzenshtern. She is named for the Greek goddess Pallas Athena. She is owned by Dalryba, a conglomerate of fishing companies, and offers sail training to foreign marine-college cadets

The Pallada, one of the world’s fastest tall ships, will berth at VivoCity at The Promenade, Level 1.

With 26 sails and masts soaring 162 feet above the deck, this tall ship has made over 80 voyages covering more than 200,000 miles of the world’s oceans, to the admiration of the world’s sailors. The Pallada has been the winner of the annual Tall Ship Regatta in Japan for the last 10 years, and is in the Guinness Book of Records for the highest speed recorded by a tall ship.
