Valentino’s first ever retrospective in Asia at Resorts World Sentosa

Valentino’s first ever retrospective in Asia
15 December 2010 - January 2011
About the Exhibition

One hundred pieces of exquisite haute couture designs by Italian maestro, Valentino Garavani, will be featured in a curated exhibition at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) from 15 December 2010 to 31 January 2011. The six-week long show promises to take visitors into a world of timeless glamour and elegance.

The exhibition – ‘Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future’ – is developed by Paris’ celebrated institution Les Arts Décoratifs, and it will feature haute couture looks from founder Valentino Garavani’s early designs to present-day creations by current Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli.
"This exhibition pays tribute to a man who has been placed in the history of haute couture as an undeniable ambassador of elegance. His work combines romanticism, modernity and classicism; his silhouettes combine sovereign grace with timeless allure. His style is determined by a graphic line which is sober and sophisticated at once. His designs accentuate the silhouette, giving it fluidity, femininity and sensuality. Forms are clear, fabrics are sumptuous and all collections always possess a large scale of colours enhanced by rich embroideries.”

Visitors will be able to see gowns that were once worn by celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor and others.

Ticket details of the ‘Valentino Retrospective: Past/Present/Future’ exhibition will be announced in October.
